Wall Street

Not to be mistaken with "The Wolf of Wall Street", this is a must in any list you read about movies with personal finance lessons.

This movie gave pop culture an iconic money man to represent the greediness a capitalist system can breed, as well as the dangers to the economy it can cause.

It also gave one of the most iconic lines movie history:

"Greed, for lack of a better word, is good." - Gordon Gekko

Many say millennials have adopted Gekko’s get-rich-at-all-costs attitude, I believe it’s more of a “Times are tough, we gotta do what we gotta do, milk every legal way of making it, leave your mark, whilst the world is failing us but we are making use of every opportunity, Plus money always is needed”

“Wall Street” is a classic story of the rise and fall of an ambitious, young worker who craves success at all costs but doesn't understand its pitfalls.

Bud Fox learns a valuable lesson by the end of the movie: Playing by the rules and living a life of honour and loyalty are more important than all the cash in the world.

Personal finance lesson:

Keep greed at bay to keep problems away.
